Day 8 I’m sexy and they know it.
Thursday
Today is the last day 2013. So, in traditional fashion, we drove from Coimbatore to the town of Ooty. We started driving at around 9am. At around 1 we around near a train station. We took everything off the bus that we would need for the next four hours and hopped off. It didn’t take long before dad spotted an awesome lunch spot. To make a long story short, it was an awesome meal and the 9 of us ate for thirteen bucks. We got ripped off.
At around 3 we boarded a train and shipped off to Ooty. I can’t tell you much about it because I wasn’t actually there. I was a mere lifeless body slumped on the seat. I was really tired.
When we arrived in Ooty the first thing we saw when got back on the bus and started moving were a bunch of kids playing soccer in a field. So the first thing we did after dropping Mom and Dad and Gregg at the hotel was play soccer with those kids. We started our own and some of the kids came to play. Although I was very uncoordinated, but it was fun playing with local kids.
Now the New Years was (for lack of a better word) dope. It was started by a massive extremely nice dinner of game hens and pasta and lamb and other delicious eating materials. After we were done eating we entered the party room. We entered in the middle of a musical chairs. There were probably three hundred people but that didn’t stop me from going up in the middle of the game and winning second play. For a gringo, dats pretty good.
At around 9 was when the dancing started. It was one of the most festive dances I have been part of-and it was also pretty productive I got for Indian girls numbers and a few slow dance requests. In fact, I even got a room number. I know that there are many child proposals in India but I got to witness it first hand for the first time ever.
A lot of the songs were Bollywood tunes and so I felt left out being the only person in the swimming pool that was converted to a dance floor who didn’t know the dance moves that went with the tune. But then “I’m sexy and I know it” came on and I said to myself “now here’s a song I can relate to!” LOLzies
At 1201 the lights went out and the fireworks started. I was bear hugged by like fourty strangers-all who seemed to be wearing huge amounts of the same cologne.
I spent New Year’s Eve dancing in a swimming pool in Ooty. What did you do?
I knew that it is gonna be a good year.
